Starting on Veterans Day, November 11, 2021, and running until December 11, 2021, Christmas Stockings will be collected at Battle Grounds Coffee Company and distributed to local veterans. All Christmas stockings collected will be distributed to veterans through the support of our local Veteran Service Officers, and veteran organizations like Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, VFW Lorriane Post 29, AMVets Post 147, and more. This project stems from local veteran Donald Jarvis, who ran a collection for Christmas stockings last year. “The intent is for these Christmas stockings to provide some additional holiday cheer this year to our local veterans,” said Jarvis. Jarvis hopes this year will bring in the same support as it did last year. Noting that through effects of the team last year Veterans in the South Shore received a few stockings.
Christmas stockings can include but are not limited to, thank you cards, hygiene products (male and female), gift cards, puzzle books, candy, and more. Those who would like to donate a Christmas stuffing can drop them off at any of the 3 Battle Grounds locations. The location of all the Battle Grounds Coffe shops are Haverhill at 39 Washington St, Newburyport at 33 Pleasant St, and their new location at Cedardale which is located at 931 Boston Rd, Bradford. All the locations will be collecting stocks from November 11, 2021, to December 11, 2021.
